How compatibility is calculated

  1. Two charts

Each date gets a personal matrix built with the same formulas as on the home page.

  2. Shared points

The main points and corners are added in pairs and reduced to a number from 1 to 22.

  3. The couple's chart

The other positions follow from the shared points, forming a separate matrix of the union.

The compatibility matrix is a symbolic method for reflecting on a relationship, not a rating or a forecast of its future.

Destiny Matrix compatibility from two dates of birth

A Destiny Matrix compatibility reading starts with two dates of birth and ends with one chart: a couple's matrix that belongs to the pair as a unit. It is not a horoscope and not a test that scores your match. In this system it is a symbolic map of the space between two people: how you come across together, what comes easily to you, what you build and which themes keep returning.

The chart doesn't describe either of you on your own. Each of you has a personal matrix for that. The couple's matrix describes what arises when your two charts meet: the tone of your conversations, the rhythm of your joint decisions and the situations you keep finding yourselves in.

How the couple's matrix is calculated

Each personal matrix grows from one date of birth. The day, the month and the year become numbers from 1 to 22, and the rest of the chart follows from them by fixed formulas. For a couple, the calculator takes the main points of both personal matrices, adds each pair of matching points together and reduces the sum back to a number from 1 to 22. If a sum is greater than 22, its digits are added up. The other positions of the shared chart then follow from these combined points by the same formulas as in a personal reading.

You don't need names, birth times or places of birth. The couple's chart is calculated right on this page. The dates you enter don't go into the page address or into analytics. The result is a layout of the same twenty-two arcana that make up any Destiny Matrix, from The Magician to The Fool, placed in positions that speak about the union.

How to read a Destiny Matrix compatibility chart

The shared chart has four groups of positions, and the tabs above the chart follow them: main, money, relationships and the couple's tail. Reading them in that order works well.

  1. The couple's character. Point A shows how others see you together: the first impression you make and the style in which you act as a pair. Point B shows what comes easily to you, the interests where you naturally find common ground.
  2. The shared anchor. The center of the couple's chart, point E, is the state in which both of you feel at ease next to each other. It's the place you return to after a quarrel or a busy week.
  3. Money and closeness. The money channel describes the couple's attitude to shared resources, work and reward, not a forecast of income. The relationship channel shows how you grow closer, where trust begins and which reaction you both fall into in tense moments.
  4. The couple's tail. Three numbers at the bottom of the chart name a recurring theme between you. They are read together, as one combination.

Here is how this sounds in practice. Suppose the couple's character point holds 6, The Lovers, and the shared anchor holds 9, The Hermit. Read symbolically, the pair is seen as a union built on choosing each other and staying honest, while each partner feels at ease when there is room for quiet and time of one's own. The question to talk through is not "do we match?" but "do we give each other that room?"

Read every number through its position. The same arcanum in the couple's character and in the couple's tail speaks about different things. Each arcanum's page has a section on its meaning in a couple's matrix.

Not only for romantic partners

"Couple" here is broader than romance. A parent and an adult child, two close friends, colleagues who share a project: any two people whose lives meet in a meaningful way can be read through a shared matrix. The calculator asks only for two dates. It doesn't need to know what kind of bond it is, and it doesn't rank one kind of relationship above another.

The structure of the chart stays the same for every pair. What changes is what each position points to: for business partners the money channel speaks about a shared project, for a parent and child the relationship channel speaks about care and distance.

Reading the result without expecting a forecast

The couple's matrix doesn't sort pairs into a good match and a bad one, and it doesn't predict whether a relationship will last. What it offers is language: specific images for dynamics you may already feel but struggle to name. One partner may recognize a wish for control where the chart shows The Emperor; the other may see a need for solitude in The Hermit. Neither is a flaw. Both are starting points for an honest talk.

Use the chart the way you would use a good question. Sit down together, look at what landed in the money channel or the relationship channel and ask each other whether the description rings true. If a position feels off, that's information too: you may experience the theme differently. The matrix is a symbolic language for reflection, not a diagnostic tool and not a substitute for advice from a specialist.

Your personal matrix and your karmic tail

A couple's chart reads more clearly next to the two personal ones. You can calculate each personal chart with the Destiny Matrix calculator and look at the three numbers of your own tail with the karmic tail calculator.

Frequently asked questions

Whose dates are needed?

Two dates of birth: yours and your partner's. Names are not needed.

Can I check compatibility with a friend or a parent?

Yes, the calculation is the same for any two people.

Do we need our birth times?

No. Two dates of birth are enough. The calculation doesn't use birth time, place of birth or names.

How is a couple's matrix different from two personal ones?

A personal matrix describes one person. In a couple's matrix every main point is the sum of both partners' points, so it speaks about what arises between you: how you come across together, your shared resources and your recurring themes.

Does the chart tell us whether we are a good match?

No. The matrix gives no scores and does not predict how a relationship will go. It offers themes to talk and think about — what supports you and what deserves attention.
