Privacy policy
Effective date: October 20, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Matrimi ("we", "us", "the Service") collects and uses personal data when you visit or use matrimi.com in any of its languages. It applies to visitors who have not registered, to registered users and to anyone who contacts us.
1. Who we are
The controller of your personal data is Zorka Apps Limited, Hong Kong, address: No. 5, 17/F, Strand 50, 50 Bonham Strand, Sheung Wan, Hong Kong.
For any privacy question, contact support@matrimi.com.
2. What the Service does
Matrimi is an entertainment and self-reflection service. From a date of birth it calculates a destiny matrix (numbers from 1 to 22, called arcana), shows the chart and short meanings, compares two dates for compatibility, and uses artificial intelligence ("AI") to write readings and answer questions about a matrix. The chart and short meanings are calculated in your browser. Some features, such as the account, the AI chat and PRO, are not available in every language version of the site.
3. Information we collect
Dates of birth. You enter a date of birth to calculate a matrix, or two dates for compatibility. The chart and short meanings are calculated in your browser. The date is sent to our server when an AI reading is prepared after the calculation (this starts automatically, including the free reading), when you ask the AI a question, or when you save your date in your account. The server uses the date to calculate the matrix positions and, for a personal reading, your age in years. We do not store the date with readings or chats; it is stored only if you save it in your account. The date is never placed in page addresses or sent to analytics.
Gender. For a personal reading the form asks whether the reading should be written for a man or a woman. This is used to write the text and is stored, without the date or your name, together with the generated text so that the same text can be shown again.
Name. If you enter a name on the reading form, it stays in your browser (session storage) and is inserted into the page there. It is not sent to our server.
Account information. When you sign in, we collect your email address and store the language and time zone of your account. If you sign in with Google, we receive from Google your email address, your name in the Google profile and your Google account identifier.
Readings, questions and answers. We store the readings generated for your account and the questions you ask the AI together with its answers, so that you can see them later. For visitors who have not signed in, questions and answers are linked to a random device identifier (see section 9), not to a name or email address. Messages that indicate a crisis are answered but not stored.
Technical information. Your IP address, browser and device information (user agent) and request times are processed to run the site, apply free limits and prevent abuse. For limits we store a keyed hash of the IP address, not the address itself.
Payment information. Subscription payments are processed by Stripe. You enter card details on Stripe's page; we do not receive or store them. We receive your Stripe customer and subscription identifiers and the status and dates of your subscription.
Messages to us. If you write to us, we process your message, your email address and our correspondence.
Analytics and errors. See section 9.
4. How we use information
We use personal data to:
- calculate matrices and compatibility, and generate readings and AI answers;
- create and maintain your account, sign you in, and keep your saved date, readings and question history;
- provide free readings and answers within the limits and protect the Service against automated or abusive requests;
- take payments, run trials and subscriptions, grant paid access and handle refund requests;
- send service emails, such as sign-in links;
- respond to requests and investigate technical problems and security incidents;
- understand how the site is used and improve it, where you have allowed analytics;
- comply with legal obligations.
We do not use your data for advertising and do not use it to make decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
5. Legal bases
Where the GDPR, the UK GDPR, the LGPD or similar laws apply, we rely on: performance of our contract with you (the Terms of use) to provide the Service, including readings and your account; your consent for analytics cookies; our legitimate interests in keeping the Service working and secure, preventing abuse and fixing errors; and legal obligations, for example accounting rules for payments.
6. Who receives information
We do not sell personal data or share it with advertisers or data brokers. We share it only with providers that help us run the Service, and only as far as needed:
- AI provider — DeepInfra (USA). It receives the calculated matrix positions, the gender and age in years for a personal reading, and the text of your questions with the earlier messages of the conversation. It does not receive your date of birth, name, email address or payment details;
- server hosting — HOSTKEY; the server is located in the USA. Our database and server logs are stored there;
- Cloudflare (USA): the Turnstile check that tells people from bots when you use the calculators or the sign-in form (it processes your IP address and browser signals), and storage of our database backups (Cloudflare R2);
- PostHog (USA): error reports and, only with your consent, usage analytics (section 9);
- Stripe: payments, trials, subscriptions and refunds; it receives your email address when you subscribe;
- Zoho Mail: sends sign-in emails and receives your email address and the content of the email;
- Google: if you choose to sign in with Google.
We may also disclose information where required by law or a valid request from a public authority, or where reasonably necessary to protect users, the Service or our rights.
International transfers. Our providers are located mainly in the USA, so your data is processed outside your country. Where the law requires it, we rely on safeguards such as the standard contractual clauses offered by these providers.
7. Retention
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law:
- account data, your saved date, readings and question history — while your account exists. We delete them when you ask us to delete your account (section 8);
- questions and answers of visitors who have not signed in — 30 days after the last message, unless you sign in from the same browser and they move to your account;
- generated texts kept for reuse — they contain matrix positions, gender and an age range, but no date of birth, name or email address, and are kept while the Service needs them;
- sign-in sessions — up to 30 days; sign-in links — expire in 30 minutes;
- server logs (IP address, user agent, page address without dates of birth or sign-in secrets) — in a size-limited rolling buffer that is overwritten automatically;
- database backups — up to 7 days on the server and up to 30 days in the backup storage;
- payment records — for the period required by accounting and tax laws;
- correspondence with us — as long as needed to answer you and resolve your request.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access your personal data and receive a copy;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data erased, including your account;
- restrict processing;
- receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format (portability);
- object to processing based on legitimate interests;
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing carried out before withdrawal;
- lodge a complaint with your data protection supervisory authority.
To exercise these rights, including deleting your account, write to support@matrimi.com from the email address of your account. We may ask you to confirm that the request comes from you. We respond within one month. After an account is deleted, the data is removed from backups as they are overwritten, within 30 days.
You can change your saved date in your account at any time and withdraw analytics consent with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page.
9. Cookies, browser storage and analytics
Necessary cookies. We use only first-party, technically necessary cookies:
- a sign-in session cookie (up to 30 days) and a cookie that tells the page you are signed in;
- a random device identifier (up to 400 days), used to count free readings and answers and to keep the conversation of a visitor who has not signed in;
- short-lived security cookies for the sign-in link, Google sign-in, the bot check (12 hours) and moving a conversation to your account after sign-in.
Without them, sign-in and free AI features do not work. Your browser also keeps the name you entered (until the tab is closed), your analytics choice and, for one hour, the date you were calculating while you sign in.
Errors. To find and fix faults, technical error reports are sent to PostHog through our own server, without your IP address, cookies, dates of birth, email addresses or question texts. This works without cookies and without identifying you.
Analytics. With your consent, we also send usage events to PostHog, such as page views and key actions, and PostHog stores its cookies and browser storage. Until you choose "Accept" in the cookie banner, no analytics cookies are set. We do not send dates of birth, names, email addresses, questions or reading texts to analytics, and we do not use analytics for advertising. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal data, including encrypted connections, restricted access, session cookies that page scripts cannot read, and links to readings that work as private keys and are removed from server logs. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If an incident affects your data, we will notify you where the law requires.
11. Age restriction
The Service is intended for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact support@matrimi.com and we will delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the Service or the law changes. The new version will be published on this page with a new effective date. If a change is material, we will also tell you on the site or by email.
13. Contact
